Message from the Founder
“Good decisions need good evidence. BCRP exists to provide rigorous, independent and ethical research that helps Bangladesh plan for a better future.”
Bangladesh is changing fast. Good decisions need good evidence: sound data, careful analysis, and an honest view of conditions on the ground. I founded the Bangladesh Center for Research and Planning (BCRP) to help supply that evidence.
BCRP is an independent research institute. We carry out rigorous, ethical and non-partisan research on policy, planning and development, and we try to make our findings useful to the people who make decisions and to the communities those decisions affect. We work with government agencies, development partners, universities and civil society, because no single institution has all the answers.
As a teacher, I have seen the potential of young researchers in this country. Part of BCRP's purpose is to develop that potential: we train new researchers, publish their work, and help them build careers based on integrity and curiosity.
Our commitment is simple: research that is careful in method, transparent in its process, and relevant to Bangladesh's priorities. I invite you to read our publications, work with our team, and join us in building a future guided by evidence.
